Despite affecting over a billion people, NTDs remain unfamiliar to many outside affected communities and working group. Therefore, the awareness is still a critical gap to be filled in the journey toward achieving the targets outlined in the NTD Roadmap.

With billions expected to follow the tournament, the World Cup offers a unique platform to amplify messages on prevention, treatment, and elimination. If the available opportunities are not seized, history may remember this as a missed chance to accelerate progress to the lastmile
