The adult onset of #Noma is a new reality that is challenging the established thinking about the epidemiology of this disease designated as the 21st Neglected Tropical Disease.
• Any shift in the burden of the risk factors❓️
• Any shift in the immune status of population at risk❓️
• Any shift in the understanding of the pathogenesis❓️
In Q3, 2025 we actually had a #NomaAlert in such age range but distance and other geographical barrier mitigated efforts. There are still many #unknowns about this disease, and this is call for further actions, search and research.
